Many house museums are closed for the Winter, so we are ranging a bit far afield this month.
 
In 2017 the Delaware Department of Transportation celebrated 100 years of service to the residents of Delaware and all who travel through the First State. On Saturday, Jan. 6, at 10:30 A.M., Jennifer Cohan, secretary of Delaware Department of Transportation, will present a program at the Delaware Public Archives focusing on the first 100 years of this state agency. The Chester County Antiques Show with the theme, Architectural Elements in Furniture will be held Saturday, April 6 from 10:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday, April 7 from 11:00am - 5:00pm. $15.00 includes admission, lectures, show catalog, and parking. A new location this year is the Phelps School, 583 Sugartown Road Malvern, PA 19355. One of the special lectures is Saturday at 1 PM, "Elements of Architecture in Furniture" ~ Brock Jobe, Professor of American Decorative Arts at Winterthur. Brock is an excellent presenter (and former client!).
