The membership-based, nonprofit organization ‘Upstate Forever’ recently celebrated their move into a new home, a renovated building in the historic Pettigrue district of Greenville. The former single family residence, built in 1916, had been vacant for over twenty years and had badly deteriorated. Upstate Forever acquired it in 2007, renovated and remodeled it by adhering to basic principles of sustainability, to reuse a building which already has been build, reusing existing materials, using recycled materials and energy efficient systems.
