On display at Carnegie Hall in April are exhibits by Mimi deOlloqui-Turner and the faculty and students of the New River Community and Technical College. In conjunction with Lewisburg's First Friday festivities, there will be opening receptions in each of the galleries on Friday, April 4th from 5-8PM. Gallery receptions are open to the general public and free of charge.

An artist named Kaziah Hancock paints portraits of fallen heroes free of charge for their families as part of Project Compassion.  Many talk about supporting our troops, and Kaziah Hancock truly does.
 
Kaziah Hancock has painted over 200 portraits of fallen soldiers all over the country.  She will not accept any money for these portraits.  Her compassion is her art and these portraits are gifts of love to families that have lost a loved one.   She is definitely paying it forward!

Marilyn Cooper, a native West Virginian, opened Cooper Gallery in 1995 and says "landscapes of the region have proven to be the most sought after by local and national collectors”.
 

Cooper Gallery, located in the historical town of Lewisburg, WV, will be exhibiting Max Hayslette’s art September 1-30.  A reception will be held today Saturday, September 4, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.-- stop by and meet the artist and see his art work.

The Greenbrier Valley Theatre, the State Professional Theater of West Virginia, held its 16th Annual Art and Benefit Auction on Saturday, July 17, 2010.  The auction was a huge success. 
 
There was a wine and Hors D'oeuvre preview party held one hour before the auction which provided attendees time to browse the artwork in advance.  The admission was $10 and was applied to any art auction purchase.
