Cooper Gallery, a showcase for contemporary and traditional art, will be welcoming Max Hayslette as he and Dale Tincher, officially present the donated original painting of 'The Meadow River Lumber Mill, Rainelle, WV' to the North House Museum's directors for permanent display in the Museum.  Dale Tincher from Raleigh, NC, a 1964 Rainelle High School graduate, purchased Max Hayslette's original painting.

north house museum: 'Twas A warm, beautiful day for the merchant's holiday open house, Lewisburg, WV - 11/22/10 01:53 PM
Sunday, November 21st, was a warm, beautiful day for the Lewisburg merchants annual Holiday Open House Celebration.  There were many festive activities for all, and of course a good time for Christmas shopping, or just making a list for Santa. 
 
Seems everyone was out enjoying the day and the festivities.  There was so much to do and see....starting with the Gingerbread House Contest (winners to be announced later) and having cookies and milk with Santa Claus.

The North House was built in 1820 and is a restored house museum located in Academy Park, the heart of Historic Downtown Lewisburg, WV. 
 
The North House was built by John Dunn, a local brick mason who also built several other homes in the area during this period. The bricks used in construction of the house were made of red clay dug from the front lawn and fired in a kiln on the premises.  The architect of the home is of the Federal period and is reminiscent of the Adams or early Greek Revival … (5 comments)
