If you like living in a Bedroom Community such as Beaverton Oregon a scant few minutes away from Portland Oregon but you can't yet afford the prices of a home yet you need the space then perhaps a Condo is for you.
The biggest problem you will encounter is the real lack of 3 bedroom Condos. Typically most Condos were built with a floor plan of 2 bedrooms or less. I suspect the theory was that they would be most often purchased by retirees who wanted less space to keep up.

The View Vs Yard question? I have been working with a couple now for a few weeks that wants to by a Portland Oregon home with a View and a Yard in an area of similar priced homes.
I try very hard to preview at least from the outside all of the homes that I will be showing. October's Residential Highlights for the Greater Portland Metro area continue to show an upward trend compared to the same month a year ago. Inventory levels continue to drop showing 6.5 months a level not seen since August 2007 down from its previous high of 19.2 months reported in January 2009.
North Portland's performance over the last month show a significant drop of Pending, and Closed sales as well as a drop in Days on the market from 104 to 84 days.
