I am thankful for the courage to go against the tide when needed. It can be lonely taking a stand. It takes faith and courage mixed with a large dose of risk taking to run against the crowd. Most people stay in situations because they find it easier to follow the tide than go against it. But going with the tide does not make you stronger.... I am thankful to walk in freedom in my life. This is more than one kind of freedom. We live in a free country and have physical freedom other parts of the world don't experience. I am blessed to be free. There is also emotional freedom.... many people are tied up today with bondage of bitterness, anxiety, greed and ego. I rejoice in the joy and peace that the absence of these things in my life brings. I chose a life of forgiveness, faith, giving and humility. I choose to recognize the opportunity in my every day encounters to love people, to lead with vision, to live out grace. It is called the Great Commission. To show God's love everyday through my actions, words and encounters. It is so easy to get sidetracked in the fast paced society we revolve in. We get caught up in work, family, school, finances and begin to let the value of our relationships slide. I appreciate the joy that comes with loving unconditionally. It took me years to realize that love is never independent. Someone always gives. Someone always receives. I was great at giving but had a hard time receiving. I struggled with control and being independent, thinking I had to do it all. It was not until I learned the art of surrendering control that I fully understood and appreciated the ability to give and receive love unconditionally.. . I rejoice that I live a faith based instead of fear based life. Faith allows me to take risks.... believe in hope... know that all things are possible..love unconditionally.Fear cripples more than 65% of Americans and in other countries it is closer to 80%. Fear keeps us from our best because fear and faith cannot operate in the same space....it's an either or proposition. Fear is the reason only 15% of us live out our gifts to their fullest. I am thankful for the awareness to start with the why? Ever share a dream or goal with someone and their first question is what is that all about, followed by how are you going to possibly do that? Often they discount our dream before they ever comprehend the why. The why is the bulls-eye. It's the passion point that is the catalyst to the what and the how. I am thankful to be empowered with purpose, passion and praise. Strongholds and paradigms of the past have lost their control over me. I choose to live in favor and gratitude. In the past I have missed out on the good things God had for me because I was playing an old tape in my head. I appreciate the opportunity to live out a life that adds value to others. What's that look like .... to me it means listening, serving, loving unconditionally and without a personal agenda. It is walking into a room and being open to encouraging others in that time and space. Jesus was a great example. I rejoice in the opportunity and freedom to pray with great passion and expectancy. So often we think answered prayers are for someone else or that we don't deserve God's favor. I embrace the opportunity to be fully present each day. In a world with a million distractions this is not easy...it takes a conscious choice to do this. I think of the example Jesus provided. He gave his full attention, his heart and his energy to those around him. He listened when they called his name. You cannot get any better model of living a wide-open always present life. Are you struggling with being present today..... with your family.... at the work place.....with clients or customers? I am thankful for the conscious awareness to "capture my thoughts". Ever have a thought take you hostage....pretty soon it is all you are thinking about. You cannot function because you are focused on one thought or instance and your mind has run away with it. This is actually a form of fear. Instead take that thought captive the minute it hits your consciousness. Capture it instead of letting it capture you.... the result is life changing. I am thankful for the ability and awareness to let go. Ever hold onto something to tightly? I have..... consciously tried and tried to make it work in my own power, sure that I know best. It is good to be passionate about something, however sometimes we take that to a level that keeps us from seeing the bigger picture. I am in gratitude that every twenty four hours God provides a new supply of grace, favor, wisdom and forgiveness. It is called taking one day at a time. So often we waste today's favor, grace or wisdom worrying about tomorrow or reliving yesterday instead of being present in today. Living in awareness is like opening the door to the rest of my life. Awareness is defined as "having knowledge or discernment of something." How many go through life thinking they know what it is about only to miss the bigger picture? What is the bigger picture? Love. Period. We were created to love God, ourselves and others. I embrace the simplicity needed to focus and find clarity. Being able to actually focus has become almost an art....to detach from the present needs, distractions and chatter. The velocity we currently operate in does not allow for us to truly dial it down and focus. I love the opportunity and awareness to be still and know. Are you Overscheduled.... Exhausted.....
