Note: this was previously posted on my main Lake Wallenpaupack real estate blog. As I scan the Hot Sheet (the newest listings from the Pike / Wayne MLS), I often roll my eyes at the remarks attached to homes for sale in the Lake Wallenpaupack region. "Seller says sell!" (Really? Why else would the seller list their home? Just to have random people walking through their home, peering into their closets and opening kitchen cabinets to see what kind of stuff they have?) Wishing all of my friends and readers a happy new year from Northeast PA! Many people start out the new year with a backwards negative comment, like: “Here’s hoping the new year is better than the last.” Well, probably it won’t be, if you have a perpetual negative outlook. I have always been a “half full” person. I look forward to each new year with a feeling of thankfulness for the blessings of the previous year. I’m looking forward to great things in 2011. Nope, this isn't another "Journey to X00,000 Points" post. Heck, I didn't even notice when I broke 300,000. LOL. So, no memoir of my favorite people on ActiveRain - I have too many favorites and will leave someone out and hurt their feelings. (Except TLW, have to say she's my #1 Favorite Person In The Rain and nobody would be insulted if I mention her....) No big gushy "OMG, I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE THIS MANY POINTS" posts. pike county: Waterfalls in Northeast PA: Childs Park in Dingmans Ferry (Pike County)

Geo W. Childs State Park is located off Silver Lake Road and Park Road in Dingmans Ferry. It is free to the public, and is a marvel to behold! This delightful Pocono property was donated in the early 1900's by the widow of George W. Childs, with the condition that there always be public access. The park is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This is, by far, one of my favorite spots in Pike County. The walking path is fairly easy with some moderate challenges.
