Barnegat High School has been ranked #2 in the state of New Jersey and # 1 in Ocean County. Being ranked #2 in a state which is always at the top of national rankings for education is a great accomplishment. 
The study took several items into consideration when ranking NJ High Schools. Scores for math and language arts from the latest High School Proficiency Assessment School Report Card were used and   schools were also grouped by economic class.
