It’s that time for me to bring out new pictures for Marketing. I would love to keep my picture that I took when I was 36 years old; but then clients would be asking me if that was a picture of my daughter. I am not one who likes to take pictures especially when I have to put on make-up. But it's a must that I change my pictures from time to time.
I normally change pictures for marketing every three to five years. My last pictures were in 2015 and I just recently took these for 2018 a few weeks ago.
This would be a fun, learning opportunity. I love acronyms and there are some who have succeeded staying focus on acronyms. I want the members in the contest to come up with an acronym real estate related. You can create an acronym for marketing/branding, generating listings, working with buyers, time management plan, etc. It can be anything that will help an individual's real estate career. Here are three examples:
1. Take the PILL: Prospecting, Investing, Listings, Learning 2. The KEY: Keep Extending Yourself 3. The Triple "T" Talking to Sellers, Taking Training Courses, & the Trust Factor
The majority topics I read on the rain is how to survive as a real estate agent in your 1st few years which is excellent. We hear about recruiting agents but what happens once you get the agents. Therefore, I would like to see a contest for a plan on how to retain real estate agents for the long haul. This can be a contest to write a blog about a brokerage retaining agents and they can write a five to seven tips (or whatever number) on the topic and explain. In real estate besides professionalism, simplifying and making sure all parties are on the same page is gold. As an agent, when I have an executed contract, I create a timeline and send it to all involved parties (Buyer or seller-depending on which one I am working with, the mortgage company, title company and the other real estate agent). On the timeline, I have written out all the important dates. Here is a list of what I write out on my timeline: 1. Effective Date 2. Inspection Date 3. Inspection Period End Date 4. Initial Deposit 5. 2nd Escrow Deposit (If applicable) 6. Appraisal Date 7. Loan (17 comments)
Make a Resolution Like You Mean It! by Grant Schneider
I enjoyed reading Grant's blog. Instead of commenting on the post, I decided to blog. Most individuals start out with a bang on setting their resolutions for the new year. I like using the gym as an example. The first week in January the gyms are packed. The second week the gyms are packed. The third week the gym is back to normal. People have convinced themselves with a legitimate excuse on “why” now is not the time. That lets me know your “why” can be very powerful and can be used (7 comments)
Look at this picture and imagine whatever you want. Believe you want it bad enough and start walking it out. Never let anyone stop you from accomplishing what you have imagined. By KJL (6 comments)
A Two-Minute Read: Is Your Website Accessible to the Disabled?
I think about rental properties or even public bathrooms being equipped for the disabled but I have not given any thought to my website being user friendly for the disabled. I read an article on how attorneys are scoping out real estate companies and agents’ websites to file a lawsuit if they are not equipped for individuals with disabilities. We know lawyers thrive on opportunities to sue and they are knocking at our door this go around. I have not heard of any incidents where they have sued any real estate agent (6 comments)
Our lives are dictated by our habits. It is definitely a fact that we have them - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some habits we are glad to have and some bad habits we have adopted that we would love to break; but we have been doing them so long that it can be hard to break. If you can create a habit and make it a way of living then rest assure it will automatically transfer over into your business life whether it's good, bad or ugly. For each (7 comments)
