One of my favorite Key West houses just got a lot more affordable. The asking price on 915 Angela Street is now $998,000 or $739 per sq ft. This house was originally listed for sale at $1,299,000. The price has been reduced a couple of times. But now the price is at a point where the market ought to react. You will either love 915 Angela Street or you will hate it. Oh, you'll love the house. I am bored with TV. The over-paid programming executives (except for the USA Network!) have ruined TV. There is nothing new and plenty of old that has been re-furbished to look "new". I watched the trailers on the new ABC TV program called "V" and thought I had seen all of this before. I did. About 20 years ago. And except for some do-gooders that sit on some public commissions, we all try to stay out of each others "business". There were 18 single family home sales in Key West during July 2009. Only two of the houses were bank owned, but seven were short sales. Because of the disparity among the types and locations a price per sq ft on solds doesn't make sense. I guess you could call it an "inside job" because the Listing Realtor and Selling Realtor are both agents at Preferred Properties in Key West. Congrats Cory and Dan. We are all familiar with the slang term "Going Postal". It originally referred to postal employees that suddenly exploded with workplace rage and committed horrible acts of violence. But it evolved into a description of ever more common sudden, extreme, and uncontrollable acts of rage and violence towards people in the workplace and to fits of rage inside or outside the workplace. I probably showed 1209 Olivia Street to just about as many people as the listing Realtor. I think the property was a real bargain at the asking price of $610,000. It sold and closed this week at an even better price of $590,000. That is $387 per sq ft for very nice 2 bed, 2 bath house, "recently updated", with a pool and guest cottage, off street parking, located in a very good neighborhood, in Old Town Key West.
