Syracuse Indiana Market Report May 2009 Housing activity has picked up in the Syracuse area. With 14 closings last month, it pushed the year to date totals ahead of last year. That is a very welcome and hopeful sign that we might be bottoming out and on the rebound. While one month is no certainity of a rebound, it is cause for increased optimism. We will take any positives that we can get.

2008 was a real mixed bag of results for the housing markets and our Syracuse area was no exception. This area is blessed with many lakes and because of this factor, we really have two housing markets within one.
The homes that do not have any access to one of our lakes, we refer to as non - water. The homes that do are of course referred to as water properties. This includes lake front, channel front, Assigned pier spaces, deeded boat lots, community piers.
