Last night, November 09, 2012, Maui residents were treated to the 6th Annual Wailea Food and Wine Celebration at the Hotel Wailea. The event was a benefit for the community arts education provided by Hui No'eau, also called Hui for short. The purpose of the Hui program is to create public awareness and interest in art "by promoting cultural exchange, spurring dialogue, enhancing the awareness of and providing access to the visual arts". The number of job losses nationwide declined sharply in November to the lowest level since the recession began. While some economists estimated that November's job losses would hit around 111,000, the actual number was 11,000 according to the U.S. Department of Labor (USDL). Industries with job losses were in construction, manufacturing and information industries but were offset by gains in temporary help services and health care industries. Employment in professional and business services rose by 86,000 in November.
