Hawaii comes in 2nd for hotel occupancy, room rates and revenue for the first half of 2012, according to a report by Hospitality Advisors LLC and Smith Travel Research. This is great news for Maui! Vistor count is up which means more jobs for island residents. With more revenue floating around, we should see some of this translate into more home sales in Hawaii. As most real estate savvy individuals know, monthly statistics are compared to the same month in prior years, rather than simply compared to the month before. That's because real estate fluctuates at certain times of the year. For example, when we look at June's performance this year, we compare it to June of 2011.
