AUBURN ALABAMA, a rising star...
Becoming best known for its University and top-ranking SEC Football, Auburn, Alabama is rising rapidly in the charts with increasing, national recognition for its year-round benefits for families and retirees.

In 2009, U.S.News & World Report reviewed Auburn with other growing towns across America, and ranked Auburn as the 2nd best place to live. This town scores big for its southern charm and collegiate vigor, but that is only icing on the cake of community development … (6 comments)

find a home: WHY it's a good time to BUY - 05/20/09 12:36 PM
If you find that you can afford to purchase a home while the housing market continues its downward shift, there are some excellent benefits for your investment, especially if you are a first-time homebuyer.
1. Per square foot, home prices have dramatically decreased in the past 24 months.
2. A large crop of inventory has created a high probability for you to find the créme de la crop!
3. Interest rates are considered "historic" as they haven't been this low in decades.
4. First-time homebuyers (or those who haven't owned a home in at least 3 years) are most eligible to qualify for the $8000 … (4 comments)

find a home: LIVING IN AUBURN-OPELIKA - Week of 110508 First Draft Pick of HOMES for Sale and Price Reductions - 11/06/08 01:32 AM
IT'S A WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE! The Auburn-Opelika area is the HEART of LEE COUNTY, AL. In 1836, the wilderness land captured the hearts and imagination of settlers who established a colony here, which Legislature approved and incorporated as Auburn in 1839. The land is rich with stories from these times, and also marked with the imprint of missionaries and Creek Indians that preceded the colonists. With it's comparatively low taxes and strong work ethic, the Auburn-Opelika area is perfectly primed for expansion, and, in the past two years, has gained national attention as a prime location for business growth.
Here is my pick of … (2 comments)

find a home: BLOCKS OF EARTH - In A Class By Itself - 05/15/08 03:53 AM
While her world is evolving and her days are revolving around the GROUND LEVEL explorations of her one-year-old, my daughter, Rebecca, has taken up the wooly feel of fine-grade felt and cotton embroidery threads, crafting stuffed, soft sculptures for the tactile world of her son. She just sent me a photo of one of her projects (Earth Blocks). Now I must tell you that, I opened up her email/photo, just after reading The Preamble to the Code of Ethics, as set out by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS. No, this is not a daily habit by any means (although it would be a good one!). Rather, … (19 comments)

find a home: THE RICHLAND ROAD MORE TRAVELED - NEW HOMES, NEW SCHOOL & NEW TENNIS CENTER for AUBURN, Alabama - 03/01/08 04:58 PM
As Auburn continues to grow its population and expand its city limits, the north section is seeing a good measure of exciting developments. 2007 saw the long-awaited completion of Richland Road (August), whereby a narrow, low access road was transformed into a 35-foot wide city street, with curbs, gutters, and 8-foot sidewalks. From Shug Jordan Parkway, the road extends over a mile, and, according to proposed city planning, is expected to ultimately connect to an Auburn Outer Loop, connecting the I-85 and the 280. Traffic lights are currently being installed at the intersection of Shug Jordan and Richland Road. The construction … (7 comments)
