The Obama administration announced a new plan to help troubled home owners. The plan will be funded by the existing Foreclosure-Prevention Program. The plan may offer the mortgage companies incentives for working with trouble borrowers by reducing their principal balance. The new plan will use $14 billion of the current $75 billion to assist homeowners who owe more than their properties are worth and assist unemployed homeowners in ways to keep paying their mortgage.
