It's spring time on Maui, and I love when the flowers start to blossom. One of my favorite things to do is take a drive up to Kula Maui. The Jacarandia trees are going off with vibrant arrray of colors. Last year I actully planted a jacarandia tree in my yard, it hasn't yeilded the display of colors yet.
I wanted to add Maui sunflowers, the feilds have been going off this year, just beautiful.

We just recently had the 4th of July rodeo parade in down town Makawao Maui. It really starts off a weekend with Makawao Rodeo and Makawao town is busy with cowgirls and bull riding cowboys getting ready for the events at the Oaski Rice Arena.
My wife and I decided to get up early and catch the parade in Makawao. The evening before we were in Lahaina watching the evening fireworks. I love how the horses and riders are all dressed up for the parade.

Discovering Island of Lanai
We set sail from Lahaina harbor on the Trilogy headed to the island of Lanai. My daughter was in town, we were looking for a great adventure. I love spending time on the water surfing, windsurfing or taking in a sail on the Trilogy.
I was really enjoying the colors in the sky, puffy clouds and rainbows
There is natural beauty everywhere you go in Maui. Love this picture of lanai. We actually sailed into a rain storm, it was part of the excitement on the trip.

One of my favorite things to do is pulling into the harbor on the island of Lanai. You get the feeling you arrived into paradise. Lanai is a laid back island that hasn't experienced development but is still raw and beautiful. The best way to get to the island in my opinion is aboard the Trilogy Excursions.
You notice right away the pristine waters and if your lucky a school of dolphins.
There are two resorts on the island, but my self I love the natural beauty the island offers.

My wife and I decided to take a break from Maui and work and take the ferry over to the Island of Lanai. So the easiest way to do a little island hopping is on the ferry from Lahaina to Lanai.
