If you travel on S Campbell in Springfield Missouri towards Nixa, you know all about the traffic congestion. Traffic backs up and you have to wait and wait. A remedy for that congestion is on the way!
The first 1.4 miles of Campbell will be expanded to 6 lanes. The project also includes adding multiple left turn lanes to help traffic flow more smoothly.
This is just the first step of making the highway six lanes all the way from Springfield to Nixa - once funding becomes available. Construction is expected to start on the 1.4 mile stretch in late 2010 … (1 comments)

No matter where you go in Springfield Missouri you can't escape the ubiquitous orange construction cones and road equipment. They're everywhere! James River and Hwy 65 intersection is being totally rebuilt and won't be finished for years. Hwy 65 between James River and I-44 is being widened to 6 lanes. National and James River is being upgraded to a diverging diamond intersection. I-44 & Glenstone, and on and on...
Police are cracking down on speeders in construction zones and I have noticed a lot of people being stopped lately because they ignore the speed limit signs. The bottom line is; unless … (1 comments)

This is a great idea to encourage people to buy homes!
A lot of real estate agents are speaking as if the door on real estate sales will be slammed shut if the federal tax credit for first-time homebuyers is not extended. And while this opportunity to collect cash has had a very positive effect on sales in the lower price ranges, it really hasn't meant much to sellers with homes valued in excess of $200,000.
My preference is to let this credit just go away. The expiration of the credit could actually lead us back to a true … (1 comments)

The 15th Annual Turkey Trot will attract thousands of runners in Springfield Missouri on Thanksgiving Day! Its the largest race in Southwest Missouri and the largest Thanksgiving Day race in MO. The annual event benefits the Developmental Center of the Ozarks (DCO) and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Scholarship Fund.
Again this year runners are asked to bring three canned food items for Ozarks Food Harvest. Last year's race included over 5,000 runners from across the US.
Regal Beloit, Empire Bank, and O'Reilly Auto Parts are presenting sponsors of this year's Trot. Official timing for each registered runner will be provided through UltraMax.

I had a lot of work to do but I made time to attend the Get Motivated Seminar yesterday at the JQH Arena in Springfield Missouri. The parking was crazy and nudging my way through the crowd of more than 8,000 people was challenging but I finally found a seat and I was there! I was amazed to see how many people needed to be motivated! I was also amazed at how excited people were to be at a Zig Ziglar seminar! July 3rd was the I Love America event in Springfield Missouri. There were thousands of people in attendance to see the airshow, skydivers, helicopter rides, music, games, food, and of course fireworks! The weather was perfect with no rain and warm temperatures. The event is held yearly at the Springfield Underground and sponsored by James River Assembly church. Here are some pictures I took at the event.
