More Fun with My New Camera; Playing in the Rain. (Literally)
Now that I've familiarized myself with my camera (although I haven't looked at the [disc!] manual) I've been roaming around looking at things with a smaller scope. We're so used to seeing things with peripheral vision, so we know what's happening at all times.
We catch a glimpse of something and we'll turn our heads because we want to see what it was. Well now I'm concentrating on focusing on smaller things, finding the beauty in a small rectangle view.
Here are some of the things I saw today...

Saturday in the Yard, Spring visitors...
We have a pond that is 22' by 20' with a waterfall and 30' stream feeding into it. Girl made. Hand dug. Lost 5 lbs when I did. Now, although there needs to be some revamping because of things added and taken away in the yard, the birds don't seem to care, they love coming by for a bath or a drink.
My husband, the sweetheart that he is, heard me crabbing about my old camera, so went out and found me a new Nikon DX so I've been breaking it in!

fluff my house: What's For Dinner? MMMMmmmm! Mandarin Mahi Mahi! - 04/28/11 07:24 PM
What's For Dinner? MMMMmmmm! Mandarin Mahi Mahi!
Mahi Mahi, tuna, it has a mild flavour; is so moist and the texture makes it like the steak of seafood! Here is an easy way to make Tuna with a mandarin sauce.
Assemble the following: Mahi Mahi steaks, 1/2 cup bulgur wheat, 1 cup chicken stock, broccoli and cauliflower, 1 small can of mandarin oranges in its own juice (or 2 peeled mandarin oranges), psyllium fibre, freeze dried dill, olive oil, sea salt and pepper.

Boil stock in a small pot, add bulgur and dill. Turn heat to low.

What Did I Miss?!? I was away at a Gig! Fort MacMurray, Alberta, Party!
I know that AR was down, because I took my laptop with me, but couldn't get connected.
So I missed a whole day!
But I kept busy! I drove 5 hours north from Edmonton and went to the Family Fun Day for Club 63 North at MacDonald Island Recreation Complex!
There was a local balloon decorator that did some fabulous work!

Thursday thoughts, what's your canvas like?
I grew up watching Danny Kaye. He'd make me laugh till I wanted to throw up! No matter the role he played you could see he was 'playing'; having fun and going to the limit with it. He was a wit and worked with the best, but it wasn't until I read this quote that I realized why I liked Danny Kaye so much!

Life is a great big Canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can!

A Quote fit for a Monday Morning! Your Brain vs. the Office!

Getting up on a Monday can be hard enough, but having to work too!?!

The brain is a wonderful organ; it starts working the moment you get up in the morning, and does not stop until you get to the office.

fluff my house: What's for Dinner? Peachy pork Medallions with Swiss Chard Bulgur! - 04/17/11 04:06 AM
What's for Dinner? Peachy pork Medallions with Swiss Chard Bulgur!
Bulgur wheat is a great grain to add to your meal planning. (read my post about other great grains)
Pork, the other white meat, can be healthy if you trim all the excess fat from it. I chose pork loin and cut the medallions into 1 inch thickness. Spray a non stick pan with cooking oil and sear the medallions on high heat both sides. turn down heat and add juice from 1/2 can of peaches packed in water. If you haven't used these before, they are there on the shelf … (5 comments)

This is a quick soup you can whip up for lunch.
I buy frozen edamame and microwave it for 6 minuted, poking holes in the bag for venting.
Meanwhile, I put a couple cups of water in a pan, add some concentrated chicken or vegetable broth, a couple sliced mushrooms, some chopped broccoli and cauliflower and 1/4 cup … (6 comments)

Help! This is a bit frustrating, I want to share a you tube video with you, but how do I do that?
And am I allowed to?!?

Someone sent me this incredible video from youtube, how do I put it into a blog post? I've been scouring the teckkies blogs, but everything is; if you make your own video, how to upload it.
I know there was something in the ARU class, but I can't find any of that in the notes. I'm sure I watched Steven import a you tube video about a UFO sighting during one of … (16 comments)

The first human who hurled an insult instead of a stone was the founder of civilization.

Here is a quote from him, sure to bring a smile!

Good Gosh Almighy, Grains are Good Grub! Healthy weight loss!
Grains should be a part of any healthy diet. They will fill you up as well as provide protein, fiber, vitamins. They can turn a meal into something more exotic, with texture, colour and flavour! Any of these grains can be 'dressed up' by substituting fruit juice, tomato juice or broth for water, and to make it a one pot meal, add your veggies when cooking the grains! Whole grains can lessen your risk of developing Diabetes, certain cancers, and other chronic illnesses.

Sunday 'Sad' trivia, What is the World Coming TO? Emoticons patented...
It never crossed my mind that someone or corporation would go so far as to patent an emoticon! What's next the finger?!?

With U.S. trademark No. 2,347,676, the sad emoticon ":-(" gets the same protection as a corporate logo or any similar intellectual property. Although seen on millions of e-mails, the mark is now officially owned by Despaira "de-motivational" company that sells humorous posters about futility, failure, and depression to "pessimists, losers, and underachievers!
