This was National Open House Weekend, and the traffic was pretty good! Buyers are at a fever pitch trying to find a home before the tax credit ends April 30th. Yesterday on the east side, I saw a few buyers, but today in Germantown, I had 12 and 4 at different open houses! Surprising to me was the number of buyers who have a home to sell, but haven't put it on the market yet. Oktoberfest celebrations will be held in various locations at this time of year. Germantown will of course have one of their own...it is called Germantown after all! Oktoberfest started almost 2 centuries ago in Munich as an engagement celebration of King Ludwig. It was such a great party, it has continued year after year for the last 176 years. A good time is had by all who partake in the festivities which include eating, drinking, dancing and music. Traditional food includes sausages, kraut,pretzels, and of course very large mugs (ein mass) of beer. Many cities continue this tradition by hosting celebrations. … (1 comments)

Training for Triathlons.....While the swim is feared or dreaded by most, (and Wisconsin has seen 3 deaths in races this season) it is my favorite....Partly because I love water and swimming, partly because I really can't run, and my bike is slow.... this great photo was taken by one of our coaches Kelly Steinberg...Kelly is an amazing coach, amazing triathlete, and an amazing photographer!

If If you are craving authentic German food and bier, I have the perfect place for you! The Von Rothenburg Bier Stube in Germantown Wi not only looks authentic, it tastes that way too. This picturesque building on Main Street is somewhat compact, but in summer, seating expands as the patio is open for dining.
