Buying Single Family homes - As Investments I like to purchase Single Family homes as an investment. I am currently buying in Alberta, with the idea that I will sell some properties in 2010, but the majority will be sold in 2015. When buying a Single Family home, I look at the MLS sheet, or FSBO sheet and ask myself the following questions: What is the average monthly rental?What is the average annual rental?I then take the average annual rental and divide it into the purchase price.
