Newtown, CT Holiday Decorating Contest The 2016 Holiday season brought something new to Newtown, CT - the Holiday Decorating Contest. This new tradition was born from the memories of a local resident who grew up in New Jersey. Her town had such a competition when she was growing up and her fond memories of it made her want to share it with the people of Newtown. Main Street Happenings - Newtown, CT Over the years, we have blogged about things that happen on Main Street in Newtown, CT. The two main things are: The Labor Day Parade Halloween As we drove down Main Street today headed to the office, it occurred to us that there are more than those 2 things above. 2010 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies in Newtown, CT While New York City has already had its Christmas tree lighting in Rockefeller Center, Newtown, CT has three Christmas tree lightings scheduled for this weekend. They are as follows: Tonight at Ram Pasture is the Newtown Christmas tree lighting. The event starts at 6:30 pm with Santa and Mrs. Clause in attendance.
