Field Trip to Oconee Nuclear Station

When I was young, one of the great adventures we got to take was to Oconee Nuclear Station up above Clemson, about ten miles from my house. One year in elementary school, our class took a field trip there, and that is when I got to experience this fascinating place for the first time.

I mean, I would say I am your typical run of the mill fellow; I am fine as long as noone is touching me when we are higher than 12 feet off the ground, and I would rather be snake bitten than find a mosquito anywhere on my body. But that's normal, right? Of course it is. And I will admit to my one true flaw as a man, and that is this: when I am startled--especially … (9 comments)
