alberta: DOMAIN NAMES - 05/03/12 01:16 AM
DOMAIN NAMES
Ever come across a DOMAIN name that either makes you laugh or wonder who that person is?
OR what their company is all about.  I know you're suppose to secure YOUR NAME from the day you were born.
Company Name ....is also a mandatory DOMAIN name.  BUT from time to time I see SOME pretty inventive domain names - that well just either go way beyond -
Waterfall Willie  - well its a pond service company and the guys name is really Willie

alberta: Looks who's Growing - 02/17/12 04:33 AM
The population of Airdrie – identified in Canada’s latest census as one of the fastest growing communities in the country – is expected to reach 90,000 people by 2040.

However, 80,000 people can be accommodated within the current boundaries.  Airdrie contained 42,564 people in 2011, up 47.1 per cent since 2006.

The City has applied to annex 5,115 hectares, which would result in residential growth on the west and north sides – accommodation about 150,000 people.

alberta: DO I need a REAL PROPERTY REPORT? - 12/19/11 03:20 AM

Why do I need a Real Property Report?

For a property owner and a listing REALTOR

®, the RPR can be used to help ensure accurate listing information. Because
the RPR is a visual representation of the property created by a certified Alberta Land Surveyor, it provides the seller (Home Owner)

protection from future legal liabilities resulting from problems related to property boundaries and improvements.

If the home owner (seller)  does not have the current RPR, encourage getting one early in the process to allow time to clear up any

problems.

alberta: KEEP THAT FURNACE FIT - 08/25/11 07:17 AM
Is there a perfect time to book a furnace maintenance?
Here's a surprising answer to that question.  Believe it or not, furnace maintenance can be performed anytime.
The main objective is to get it booked well before the cold arrives.  ( ALBERTA...that's NOT too far away..cry)
My suggestions is to take a quick half hour, while on the patio enjoy a cold one, jot down what needs to get done before the fall and winter.
August and September are good months to book - just before the cold hits. And perhaps the rush of these service providers being booked up.
Enjoy … (1 comments)

alberta: NEW HOME PURCHASE - to Build or NOT? - 01/23/11 06:15 AM
Looking to build a NEW HOME.
Having over 10 years in NEW HOME sales there is a wide range of opportunity to build a NEW HOME in Airdrie.
Firstly - most new home sales people work only for the builder.  NOT you, and are not licensed Realtors.   The New Home Warranty benefits the builder more than the buyer, you do have rights - but make sure you understand your rights and limitations.  **Like most salespersons they have quotas to make per month, every wonder why there is so much change over in Show Home sales people?
Lots will vary in price based … (2 comments)

alberta: ADVERTISING AND YOU - 11/24/10 03:24 AM
Do you tell your sellers what you spend per month on your advertising?
I recently did a comparison on this cost per month.  DID YOU KNOW, that the average per month in print ad costs are around $700.00 per month for the average REAL ESTATE AGENT.
Mind you this is in a smaller population based city (40,000)  But that's still a fair chunk of change per month for a single agent with NO assistant or partners.   Now I'm basing this on a $95K per year gross income.
I had a conversation with a marketing/advertising person the other day.  She mentioned that … (1 comments)

alberta: Albertans on The MOVE - 03/17/10 04:31 PM
On a national level, Albertans are the most likely, 13 per cent, to say they are very likely to buy a home within the next two years, and among those looking to buy, they are also most likely, 40 per cent, to say they will buy within the next year.  An Interesting Snippet from Our Real Estate Board I read recently.

I like reading positive comments - as we are overwhelmed by media saying exactly the opposite.  GUESS what sells NEWS.
Not Mary & John bought a wonderful home and are happy as two peas in a pod.  They love their Realtor … (1 comments)
