Last week I spent a few hours in the Frog Level area of Waynesville while I was waiting to have my oil changed. The oil change was the perfect excuse to have coffee again at Panacea Coffeehouse, and to walk the downtown streets without worrying about slipping on ice for a change.

I noticed that Panacea added a great big rack (you can see it in the distance in the photo) full of their fresh, delicious coffee beans. Panacea is a great place to drink coffee, enjoy free wifi, enjoy friends, and eat good food (1 comments)

Met a good friend, Brent Ivey, at Panacea Coffee House yesterday afternoon for coffee while doing errands in Waynesville. These photos were taken from the back of Panacea which is along a beautiful creek. There's a nice deck to sit on and enjoy the outside air when the weather is a bit warmer. Panacea Coffee House ~ another great place in Waynesville NC to drink freshly-brewed coffee and good food, with free wifi.
Yesterday I toured the sixth annual Whole Bloomin’ Thing Festival before they even opened for business and took a few photos (see slide show below). The Festival, held in Frog Level in Waynesville, NC, promotes local agriculture, local farmers, local artisans and craftspeople, and serves as the official kick-off of Buy Local Week which runs through May 17th, all in conjunction with the BUY HAYWOOD Market Development Project, which you can read more about here. A few blocks from downtown Main Street along Richland Creek in Waynesville, NC you will find a quaint area called Frog Level which is in the midst of a welcome spurt of revitalization, development and entrepreneurial activity. Originally developed as a train depot back in the 1800's, Frog Level is now 'hopping' with new entrepreneurs, and you can now enjoy freshly-brewed coffee, shopping, a massage, visiting the Waynesville Welcome Center, as well as getting a tattoo if you are so inclined! Here are some 'charming' Frog Level sights. A water garden store would be a great addition, don't you think? See (2 comments)
