soldiers: Freedom is not free.... - 05/30/11 03:36 AM

Love this and wanted to share...  My step-son is in Afghanistan and we are all so proud of him and also very, very thankful that he will be home to spend some time with his family next week.   It is because of these brave soldiers that we are able to post what we want when we want and for that I thank you all.

A day of Remembrance, A day to be Thankful, A day to be Proud and A day to Honor.   Almost anyone you ask either has a relative in the service, has had a relative in the service or knows of a family with someone in the service.  Whether you personally agree with the ways of the military and the wars we have fought, there is one thing you have to give credit for.  These men and women are putting aside the fear of dying so that we can sleep safe and sound in our comfy beds at night.

I posted this yesterday, but, thought it was important to post again today.
A Day to Remember....Memorial Day.  What does it mean to you? 
As most of you know I have a step-son in Iraq.  I have written many posts about him and how scary it has been at times wondering how he is doing.  It has been deeply appreciated, the sincere and gracious comments that my AR friends and family have posted.  You will never know the great warmth and peace that I feel when reading them again and again.

I am starting to get a little nervous....my step-son who has been serving in Iraq will be home in a couple of weeks.  We are all excited to see him.  I know he has grown and matured many years in the short time he has been gone.  He will be seeing his firstborn baby girl who was born 2 weeks ago.  It is going to be a very emotional time for all since he will be going back to Iraq shortly after he is home.
