Need Help from Fellow Realtors in Maryland

Fellow Realtors,

I am happy to announce my candidacy for the Maryland House of Delegates (District 32, Anne Arundel County).

During the past 8 years while serving on both Maryland and Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors'® Legislative Committees, I have witnessed the State of Maryland pass numerous regulations and tax increases that unfairly burden our industry, small businesses and homeowners.  In fact, much of the revenue from these taxes and fees ends up in the State's general fund and does little to help the real estate industry or individual homeowners. 

Now, with the economy floundering, the real estate industry is again being singled out for additional regulations, fees and taxes.

I am dedicated to our profession and I believe the Legislature has far too few small business owners and real estate professionals amongst its ranks.  The fact is, many of today's legislators just don't understand how taxes and regulations affect the real estate industry and ultimately how they affect our state and local economy.

I do understand and I am running for office to be an advocate of home-ownership and a voice for small business owners, which most certainly includes Realtors.

As a State Delegate:

                  1.  I will oppose any additional real estate taxes;

                  2.  I will oppose state efforts to usurp local land-use decisions; and

                  3.  I will support private property rights.

I believe that in doing so Maryland will be a better place to live, work, own a home and raise a family.

As Realtors®, we share the same work ethic, beliefs and values.  I am now asking you, as a fellow Realtor®, to consider volunteering or investing in my campaign. 

 We all know campaigns are expensive.  My husband, Travis, and I are committing significant time and money to ensure I win.  This is not something I am taking lightly.  I already have a campaign strategy and a team in place.

 Will you please consider helping me with my campaign at this time?  It is important that I come out of the gates strong.  I realize that the economy is tough, very tough for our industry.  However, now is the time to make a difference.
