Today was another beautiful day in the Pocono's. By 10:00 the crisp spring are had nicely warmed to above 55 degrees and I was out on my porch with my second cup of coffee enjoying the view. That was when I spotted my two friends frolicking around on the little island the middle of the river.

Ozzie and Harriett were out and having themselves a wonderfully good time. I took this picture from about 75 feet away so as not to disturb the peace of my two friends.

Hi there,

You have a river in your back yard? That must be an amazing experience every single day.

Right now I'm in the desert area near Palm Springs and here we have roadrunners, I love seeing them.

Russ, that's why they have their own private island in the middle of the river.

Hi Lynda,
I have a river and water falls in my backyard, and yes it is very beautiful to wake up too every morning. I'd love to live in a desert area for a while as well. I've seen some beautiful desert pictures here on AR.

Hi Bridget,
With a home in Hickory Run I'm sure you see a great deal of wildlife. I'm only about 15 minutes from there.

Heather, it is very serene and peaceful and you're right, it's very easy to overlook what's in ones own backyard.

Suesan- I am so jealous! I would love to have a river in my back yard. I use to own 10 acres on a river in Northern California but I had to sell it to sponsor my wife, it was worth all of selling it. I am working on another river property, nice shot!

I saw Russ's comment and I'm happy to inform him that he will never have any Canadian geese, and neither do you. Geese have no nationalities, so Canadian geese is not a correct plural. One is a Canada goose, and two or more are Canada geese, and a flock would be a flock of Canada geese.

Kind of like learning how to pronounce Realtor and nuclear.

A few years ago we had a lost Canada goose that lived on the San Diego River in Mission Valley for a few months. I think it got too hot during the summer and she decided to head on back home to Canada.

Andrea, They were here last year and seem to be back again, so I named them. I know they're the same ones because I used to feed them last year, this year when they returned they game right up to the house door.

Robert, I think sponsoring your wife was worth selling the property. I'm sure you'll find another one. You know what they say "nice things happen to nice nice people".

Terry, Thank you very much for the compliment, such a gentleman.

Russell, Ozzie and Harriet have little Canadian passports, they also have green cards. I just saw Dick Cheney trying to interrogate them Monday but he slipped, the rifle went off and they got away. Honest guy, true story.
