To be or not to be a "Newbie"

By
Real Estate Agent with Fridley & Associates Realtors, LLC

Hi!  I'm Sandra and I'm a "newbie"!  Not til I joined activerain did I realize that you can be a newbie at lots of things.  I'm new to Branson, Missouri, (Noobee).  I'm new to blogging, (Nube).  I'm new to activerain, (Noob).  Shall I go on?  I have lots more.  I had no idea that at my age I could be new at so many things.  Just when you think everything is old and boring, something is dropped in your lap to make you think otherwise.  I love it.  I shall never again get into a "lack-luster" frame of mind.  I shall look at each day with wonderment and excitement and not think of it as just another old day.  I am excited again.  For the first time in a very long time.  It feels good.  So, it doesn't matter to me how long I stay with activerain, blogging, or whatever, I will always be a Newbie!  You can be a newbie too!

Keep that positive attitude going and you should do very well.

Good Luck with your new blog!

One can always, like you said, be a newbie. that is the way to keep young and excited.
I have not looked, but an pretty sure there is not an 'OLD F***S" group here at ActiveRain.  They would be keeping every close to the vest and not willing to share.

Welcome Sandi,

I know exactly how you feel. The day I turned 40, many moons ago, I started getting this exhausting "thirst for knowledge". It was like I could never get enough or learn enough. I spent hours (and still do) reading and learning about all sorts of things. I have heard others speak of this phenomenom also and I still do not know why exactly it happens. But I enjoy it and being "new" to something is challenging and exciting at the same time.

On a different note to Bob, if you wanted to start that group, don't forget to invite me:) And make it Private!

Hey, Sandi! I'm a Newbie, too!

I agree - it's important to stay a newbie - who wants to be settled and bored? I love to try new things (though it's sometimes scary...like being afraid your posts won't get read or being afraid you're doing it wrong...although Ana Connell's post on Stealth Mode is really encouraging).

Congrats on being a Newbie, Sandi! Welcome to the club!
