Pictures Speak a thousand words, or more?

That rental in Wescott Plantation I posted about last week sat on the market with another company for over 3 months and barely had any showings at all.  The owner was so frustrated.  Through a recommendation he contacted me and I looked into what the problem might have been.  There it was - NO PICTURES!  Only a very brief description and a very mediocre picture of the front of the house.  He released the other agency and asked me to list it for him.  I'm not a photographer by any means and it is only a little two bedroom home, but I took pictures of the interior, the view from the front of the house, a neighborhood streetscape, the clubhouse and the pool.  I went to town with the description of the interior of the home as well.

I posted this listing on my website and had it syndicated.  I also did several manual postings with a url to the virtual tour.  From Craigslists, the same day I had 4 inquiries.  The next day I showed it and got it rented for him.  Now he thinks I'm a dynamic Realtor.  Since we all know many people start their home search online, that's where they'll form their first impression.  I also help renters and stay in touch with them hoping they'll be a buyer sometime in the future.  If we don't provide as much information and PICTURES as possible, we're not providing anything.

Lisa,

The visuals and descriptions are sooo important.  To sell a home you do need to market it and that is part of the deal.  Good that the seller realized he needed an agent who would take care of the basics for him.

Good for you and I would bet you will most likely be getting referral from him in the future.
