Even savvy homeowners sometimes need help putting their home's best face forward. I visited the lovely home of a young professional couple recently. Their home was full of interesting and beautiful pieces collected from their travels all over the world.
Although most of the spaces were really well put together, the house was in need of some tweaking. The living room (pictured) was a bit of a neglected area because the family spent most of its time in other parts of the house. Using all of the homeowner's existing pieces, we made the room more appealing by taking away clutter and adding some interesting textures. The homeowners had become used to the sight of the living room and didn't realize it could use some freshening.
There are so many levels of staging-from furnishing vacant properties to making minor (but big impact) adjustments to already nicely appointed homes. Houses that show well always generate more interest from buyers. And with the advent of the Internet, good pictures of the property are essential. Most homeowners, no matter how sophisticated, can benefit from having a professional stager help with making sure that their home makes a great first impression.
