When I come home from work and finally prop my feet up (with a nice brew of hot herbal tea), I turn on the TV and..... I just can't help myself...I turn on the Home and Garden channel and watch more...... REAL ESTATE! It total amazes me of some of the prices that I see. A two bedroom 1 bath Bungalow selling for $570,000. WHAT??? Are they kidding??? WHAT do those buyers do for a living to afford those prices? We (in Altoona) have 2 bedroom bungalow's for $57,000. So, I thought I would share this $47,000, 2 story property listing that I just listed today. It has a new eat in kitchen, new bath, new carpeting, every room is freshly painted, all new doors, new hardwood floor, ceramic floor, new shingles, new furnace, vinyl siding, new windows. Look what you can buy for $47,000 in Altoona, PA. !!! Just think what you could buy here for $570,000!!!! Let me know if you would like to move here...lol....

I would have labeled these pics but, I am still trying to figure out how....

Nancy,

I am one of the few who read you post who has actually been in Altoona PA!  I was born & raised in PA.... and Man oh man do I miss it.  I am taking my PA real estate license test next week and I am going to begin to work my way from NJ back into the PA market.  I have to tell you, here in NJ it is not hard to take the commission you can make selling the homes here for prices they sell for... but I must say.... I left my heart in PA.

my, my, Mellisa, your are FAST! I just posted it. My pics are all over the place....it didn't look like that when I was inserting the pics. If you have any suggestions on how to label and insert and make it look neat....well, I could use the help!!!

Anyway, to answer your question - rent is inexpensive here also. You could rent this house for $500. a month with tenent paying all utilities. Taxes are $356. - yes, thats total taxes for the year!

Hey DW

Good luck on your test next week! I have lived in this area for a very long time now and I love the mountains and wild life - it's just absolutely beautiful here! Let me know if you want to move to Central PA!!! Commission is nice when you sell commercial, land and farms here. We can get as much as 10 % . I understand your taxes in NJ are sky high. You must move back here.....sooooon!!!

Nancy,

I really do plan on moving back to PA with the next year.  I spent time on the east part of the state, up in the poconos, and up in Susquehanna county as well.  I love the mountains.  I have to admit, my time in Altoona was just passing through, but so many small town in that state are so inviting and welcoming.  Thanks for the wishes for luck on the test. Thanks for bringing me nice thoughts of Pa.

Nancy, thanks for commenting on my blog yesterday!  I noticed that you are not a Rainmaker yet.  If you're willing to make the investment, you'll be able to push blogs like this out to the public.  It will take your real estate career to whole new heights.

To see what I'm talking about Google this address - 9908 north 120th east ave owasso ok

You'll see that this is a listing where I have 4 of the top 6 Google page results.  This is called Google Freaky Juice and it is very powerful!

So jump in and go public!  I'm an Ambassador here at AR, so if I can help further, let me know!
