I'm an Exclusive Buyer's Agent. (Our company never takes listings and never represents sellers) Our professional association (naeba.org) recently did a member surey about funn/strange/dumb things that home sellers do when they have their home on the market.
The top response? About 40% of our members noted significant issues with just getting into a home on the market.
Among the other posts one mentioned showing homes where the seller not only left the toilet seat up, the toilet was unflushed.
Pet issues actually came in second. One member posted "Seller wanted to show us the home themselves and the seller's three dogs followed us around, jumping up and smelling croches" Another posted "Large friendly dog named Cujo, but don't pet!" I think I've shown that house. :-)
