Lanora, I remember hearing the professionals saying "make the title catchy"...what do you think? We currently have 10" of snow on the ground with more coming this week, hopefully not stranded like last week. Happy Holidays!
Myrl:) "Convention of quacks" now that would be a good blog heading, right? There is only a small area of the lake that is not frozen and they prefer to stay in the water at 4 degrees, guess their coats are warmer than ours, what do you think? So good to see you again and wish you a very Happy New Year!
Donna that sure is a bunch of them all in one place! Happy New Year to you:)
I am laughing at this one! You should use picnik (free) to upload the photo and embed the info on it!
Nice photo-I'm from the St. Joe area originally (Maryville). Good to see the NW Missouri area folks on active rain!
Bill: Every winter we have literally thousands of these geese at the lake, the homes association has done about everything to discourage them. They carried duckweed in last year and that is expensive to treat. Hope you have a great New Years!
Andrew: Yes it is rather interesting, isn't it? They really can become a nuisance. Wishing you the best in 2010!
Wendi, Small world isn't it? I was just in Maryville last week on a assignment. It is a great town! I am so glad to see you and wish you a Happy New Year!
Renee: Thanks for your suggestion, please feel free to offer more...................! Have a great holiday!
Happy New Year, Tony & Darcy! That was what I was referring to in my heading....quack, quack, quack all night long, they must know some news and gossip we don't to be talking all the time. I used to own a ERA franchise from 1986-1991. Best to you in 2010.
Hi Karen: I did not realize that North Virginia had a lot of geese. They sure are pretty unless they are close to where you live then they are rather a nuisance, can't they? I wish you the very best for 2010!
Hi Dona! Good grief! That's a LOT of geese! Looks like they would have been a little smarter and headed south, huh?!
Have a wonderful week...
Debe
Debe: I wonder by chance, do you need a few of the geese in Charlotte? With the temps around 0 and below I think a couple hundred more have arrived. The Market is really picking up here and hope Charlotte is too!
It looks very cold, those geese are sure to be quacking about how to get warm. Misery loves company!
Hi Janna! It is very cold in St Joseph this week, windchill yesterday was -25 degrees, which possibly could have been a record breaker from the late 70's. Not for sure what these geese are quacking about except there is now just a very small opening in the lake and luckily most have left. Hope the weather in North Idaho is better than here currently. Stay warm! I hope to see you again soon.
HA! Dona, believe it or not, they go even rarther south than here! We do miss them when they're gone but, then when they're here in droves, blocking traffic and pooping all over the place, we're asking them to get an early start down to FL!!
Business is going great right now! I did not expect it to pick up this much for another six months--I am NOT complaining! Glad you're picking up too! Hopefully we're working our way out of this recession. It seems like it's been forever, doesn't it?
Have a wonderful week...
Debe, You are right on about geese, let them fly somewhere else!
Business is really starting early this year as I thought it would. It really is going to be an amazing year in 2010, isn't it? Our weather this past week has not been helpful at all with 10+ inches of snow and minus 0 to boot!
Yes it is, Dona! I'm ready for it, cold weather or not! Thankfully we aren't snowed-in like you are--although it WOULD be nice to have a little of the fluffy stuff!
Have a wonderful Wednesday...
How wonderful! Alright, I understand that I'm probably the only one who thinks that, but if I had a few hundred geese visiting me, I'd never get anything done. I'd be out taking billions and billions and billions of pictures! LOL
Russel, The geese are fine for a year or so, but after 15 years of them we have more photos than we can ever look at. The fun time for photos and the geese is when they have young goslings just walking around the water edge. (Are they thinking "Do we really want to get in the water?")
