An Easy Way to Help the Victims of Haiti

I am sure you have all heard about the recent 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti on Tuesday.  This Earthquake has been a devastating blow to that area.  When you watch the news, you can't help but tear up.  I just found out last night that a dear friend of mine lost 3 family members in the quake.  She is understandably upset, but her biggest concern is her other 12 family members that are now left homeless and without the basic necessities of life.  She is not only concerned about her family, but for the people in general.  As I am sure you all know that tragedies such as these do not just clean up easily and it will take some time to help rebuild Haiti.  Right now people are sending tons of commodities and help, but what the people of Haiti really need is money. 

There is a very easy way to give to the Red Cross and I felt that the 170,000 members of Active Rain could make a huge difference.  You can give $10 quickly by texting the word Haiti to 90999and the $10 will just be added to your cell phone bill.  This is an incredibly easy way to give such a small amount.  $10 may not seem like much, but if we multiply that by 170,000, then it turns into a heck of a lot more. Together we can really make a difference in the lives of a people who have been taken down by tragedy.
