My take on the Bold Fresh Tour!

Okay, here's the rundown on the Bold Fresh Show.

In a word ~ Awesome Comedy!!

I apologize in advance because I'm not real good at this.  I hope I can give a good idea of what the show was like.

I showed up half hour early, and found a parking spot in the mall area.  Walked to the theater in the drizzle.  Did I mention I just had my car washed on Saturday?

Got my ticket and went to the theater #9 where the Bold Fresh was playing.

Found a seat near some cool folks.  That would have been just about anywhere in the show.  Lots of anticipation and chatter.  Mostly friendly.

I noticed a policeman and a couple other bodyguard looking types off to the side, and one man with a walkie talkie.  I mentioned to the lady on my right that I had never seen a policeman in the theater before.  She thought it was odd also.  Just before the show, the general manager stood up front and welcomed everyone and apologized for the new he had.

The show was not going to be simulcast live due to blizzard-like conditions in Virginia where the show was supposed to occur.  The governor and tour directors decided for the safety of the folks to cancel and reschedule.

Lots of groans in the audience.  We were then told that the show we were about to see was the show that was recorded the day before at the Sun Dome in Tampa.  They had done 2 shows the day before.  (I guess I had my days mixed up).  Ohhhhh from the audience.  In addition, we were told we would be getting free tickets to either see the next live simulcast show or a show of our choice at a later date.  Wow's from the audience. They would give them out at the end of the show.

NO SHOUTING  ~  NO ANGRY MOBS ~ NO RIOTS   ~  NO NEED FOR THE POLICE.

On with the show.

The show starts out with Beck coming out looking like, well.... like Beck.  Black jeans, pull over shirt, and sneakers.  He's wearing the modern tiny microphone taped to the side of his face with ear plug and wire down to transmitter.  Sound is fine.
He's very lively, happy to be there and the crowd at the Sun Dome is on their feet.  Our crowd is just kind of looking on awkwardly.

He's quick witted, makes fun of the wimps with their snow storm.... and apologized for the situation.  He launches into a comedy  skit and the night is off.

Funny story.  He says they've had this show in Tampa scheduled for months, and had to put in a second show because of the demand.  He had commented on the State of the Union Speech, and had his opinion.  Not a good one in case you were wondering.  But, apparently after the SOU, the POTUS was coming to Tampa.  He wanted the Sun Dome for his event.  Imaging his surprise and dismay when he was told he couldn't have it because it was being used by Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly?  Boy to be a fly on the wall.

I'm not a comedian, and my version is not nearly as hysterical as Becks.  Between his way of telling, and his gestures, we were really busting up.

He went on for about half an hour or more, then he brings O'Reillly out.

O'Reilly of course is wearing dockers (light color), shiny black shoes, shirt and tie, and a sport jacket.  He uses the old fashioned hand held microphone.
They banter about for a few minutes.  Glenn picks on Bills outfit, and Bill says Glenn shopped at K-Mart for his clothes.

Then Bill goes into his routine.

Bill is not really as funny as Glenn, but he had some good stuff.  Picture this -  Bill O'Reilly (all 6'4" of him) telling a story about Nancy Pelosi and jumping up and down on the stage.  It was really funny.

A 20 minute intermission.  Surprise!

They both come back on stage and just knock the house down.  In the back of my mind for some reason, I thought of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.  Not nearly as good, but they do make a good team, and they work well together.

Overall, a great experience.  Would I do it again?  Absolutely!  Well worth the money.

A special note to all Tea Party folks.  Stay tuned to a major event August 28th, for another meet in Washington.  Glenn wants us all to meet him at the steps to the Lincoln Memorial.  I think I will be making special plans this summer.

Bob, My neighbor went last night and called me at intermission.  She said it was GREAT.  My husband told me he wanted to go to the next event in DC so I guess I need to get it on my calendar.

Marchel, The next big event is Aug 28th at the steps to the Lincoln Memorial.  I plan on being there.  Maybe we'll bump into each other.  There is another simulcast show scheduled for Feb 2nd.  I highly recommend it.

Thanks for that detailed description of the event.  I had wondered if it would be worth seeing and now I want to go.  Maybe will have to go to Seattle to see it.  Glenn Beck was in Seattle this summer but I could not make it. I really like them both!

Sandra, I would highly recommend the show.  I personally would recommend the simulcast event if you don't like crowds.

Kevin, I'd recommend trying for the movie theater tickets, they're cheaper and the show is just as good.  I'm not a big fan of huge stadiums for events other than sports.  Prices are much better too.  Did I mention how cheap I am?

Jon, I'm not a big fan of large gatherings, and protesting goes against my nature, but I am planning on going to DC in August.  I believe it's going to be a major event.

Nick, Patriotic and Huge.  If they think last summers event was big, I think they are in for a big surprise.

Plenty of time to plan on being there.  I'd love to go with my brother - he sent me Glenn Beck's book Arguing WIth Idiots and it's great. DC isn't that far from Tennessee and West Virginia (brother's place).

Bob - I really think the current administration would love to shut these guys up for good. The bold fresh show needs to go on the road before the next election. They could push the right people right into office.
