THE GOOGLE POWER OF ACTIVE RAIN

Milner's Hardware and Outfitters in Valliant, Oklahoma is one of my favorite stores.  While we were in there this week, I asked Amanda Marlen if they would like to be featured in a blog post.  

 

I showed her my Active Rain blog on her computer and she was agreeable.  So I shot some photos, made some notes and last evening did a post on the store.

This morning I ran some google searches using as terms the various stuff they carry in the store that someone might be searching for.  Number 1 URL returned on the Google Search Engine  - searching for

 

 

• building supplies

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• hardware

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• plumbi ng supplies

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• hunting supplies

• fishing supplies

 

BUT here's the rest of the story....

When I did a search using the terms "store valliant oklahoma"  it came back in second place. 

That search took place at 8:30 this morning. 

That's GREAT but why not come back in FIRST place if possible...

So I tweeked the title, adding store to the title, the tag and placing it in the body of the post. (Some of the things that
Bob Stewart talked us about at RainCamp in Dallas this past week....Thanks, Bob!)

Then I ran a search again using the same terms at 8:39 am... 9 minutes after the first search and during that 9 minutes I was tweeking the post. - YOU GUESSED IT - number 1 NOW!

AH - THE POWER OF ACTIVE RAIN!
