When considering buying a vacation home on Cape Cod , whether single family or a condominium, it mostly comes down to one thing: Lifestyle.

Most, when buying a vacation home on Cape Cod , first consider the single family home. Single Family HomeSingle family living offers the most independence and flexibility. If you want to paint your house a certain color or put on an addition, all you need to do is make sure it is approved by the Town. Freedom to do what you want and to have a certain degree of privacy is the most obvious reasons to go with a single family home.

Dunes When buying a vacation home on Cape Cod , the ability to control costs is important too. There is no other owner that can force you to spend money and no one to check with when you want to spend money.

Condominium living, however restricting in choice of color, structural changes or cost control, offers freedom of another kind.
The freedom of buying a vacation home on Cape Cod as a condominium, is that of little to no projects and the ability to truly enjoy the area and relax. Most condominiums have service providers who take care of the landscaping, trash, and in some cases the structure. The cost of these services is often less than a single family home owner as they are shared among all the owners.

When buying a vacation home on Cape Cod consider the cottage condominium. The cottage condo offers a hybrid of the traditional multi-unit attached condo and a single family home. Most of them offer full ownership of the building to the individual owner, sharing ownership of the land only. This gives each owner some flexibility in caring and remodeling the cottage, yet the other projects are attended to by the association.

Another important factor when buying a vacation home on Cape Cod  is the cost of acquisition and proximity to ideal locations. Condominiums, whether traditional or a cottage, can be far more attainable near beaches and golf courses. In some cases, it is possible to get beach ownership for 100's of thousands of dollars less as a condominium than it would be for a single family home.

There is no one answer to what works best for everyone when buying a vacation home on Cape Cod . Considering your lifestyle and where you want to be is very important in deciding the type of property you should purchase.
