Are you a good neighbor?

I saw this article in RealtyTimes and I thought it was worth sharing...........

The article 50 ways to gain a neighbor is about being a good neighbor...........a snip it from the article:

What exactly is a "good" neighbor?

To be one, you don't need to be friends or hang out together. A good neighbor attitude allows you to live as privately or as sociably as you wish.

I agree with this statement...........we can all have the "good neighbor" attitude!

When we moved here to EGR, Michigan.............our neighbors did come by and welcome us and bring us cookies and brownies.  The police came by and gave us a city welcome package.  (we still grin about this to this day as we are from larger cities where the police only visit where there is trouble) I have to admit it was a great feeling.

We just bought a new home that we are renovating, we sent a letter to all the newighbors introducing ourselves and telling them we plan to landscape and renovate the home and build a new garage, and that we respect their privacy and the need to sleep in on the week ends, and hope not to disturb them too  much, and if there is a problem to not to hesitate to call us............we do not have to like each other (but I hope we do) but we do all need to get a long.

You know, we can use these examples given in this article to every day life, at our jobs, at church at any place where you need to get along with a group of other people.

So the next time you get a new neighbor - be a "good neighbor" and welcome them to the neighborhood.

Thanks Valerie,

After thinking about this blog, this week end, I wonder if Realtors should send a letter to neighbors introducing thier client to the neighborhood.  I am thinking you need to get permission from the buyer, but may be a nice thing to do???
