Those who have been coming to Jamestown, Tennessee for the trail riding in Big South Fork National Park are undoubtedly familiar with The Highlands At Big South Fork, the first gated development and the "Grandaddy" of the equestrian communities.

The Highlands is Big South Fork's original equestrian community

The Highlands at Big South Fork is a beautiful private gated residential equestrian community focused on trail riding and offering 35 miles of private trails in a planned community on 3,500 acres.

In Phases One, Two and Three, lots range from a half acre to two acres. Ownership includes two stalls and storage area in an Owners' Barn, and this is what makes The Highlands unique. There are no boarding fees. Eight-stall owners' barns have 12x12' stalls and walk-outs to allow horses to get outside in the sun and rain if they want. Spacious storage areas are provided for tack, hay, feed and stall-cleaning tools. When you invite your guests to ride The Highlands private trails with you, they'll be keeping their horses the gorgeous 12-stall timber frame Guest Barn during their stay with you.

Phase Four in The Highlands is an exciting new opportunity where you can have your horses with you on your property and you can build your own barn, yet you are still within a community of horse lovers with access to the BEST trails in this area.

The Guest Barn, 35 miles of spectacular custom-designed and maintained trails and breathtaking views from the "bluff lots"

At The Highlands, a massive gated entryway provides exclusivity, seclusion and security. Underground utilities are in place for all phases, the roads are paved and several new homes are already completed. The Highlands offers spectacular bluff lots, and you can enjoy an equestrian lifestyle, with or without horses! The horse trails will take you to breathtaking overlooks, along cliffside rim trails, past rockhouses and waterfalls….if not, just sit on your deck looking out at the spectacular rock bluffs and enjoying the ambiance. This community is ideal for retirement or second home.

You'll know you're in the heart of horse country here with Tom Seay, host of the famed RFD-TV series, "Best of America On Horseback" as your next-door neighbor!

This community is amazing.  The developers have left a huge amount of land undisturbed with access to rock shelters and overlooks.  The views from the bluff lots take your breath away.

I just remembered that when my marketing guru and I bought our first home out in the Mt. Helix foothills, the house below ours had a Tennessee Walker (hope I got that right) in the back yard. It was pretty neat to see people out riding their horses along the side of the road out in our neighborhood.
