Durham Oregon: Durham is a community located in the south-east city limits of Tigard and borders with Lake Oswego. Durham is actually an incorporated city that uses many of the City of Tigard services. Residences consist of single family homes, townhomes, condos and apartments. There also is retail, commercial and light industrial property in the area. The newer homes are generally of the higher density variety, while the older homes offer large lots and mature landscaping. Durham is noted for its large stands of mature trees and Fanno Creek runs through the area. Single family homes can start at about $250,000 and go over $500,000.

The Durham neighborhood is in an ideal location. Durham is within minutes of the superb shopping and entertainment available at Bridgeport Village. Downtown Portland is about 25 minutes away and the Portland Airport is about 45 minutes away. In addition, the numerous recreational opportunities at Cook Park are within walking distance. Kayakers enjoy the close proximity of the Tualatin River and everyone can enjoy the waterfowl and aquatic animals.
The historic and highly regarded Durham Elementary School could be considered the community center for the neighborhood. This school is 115 years old and is well supported by parents. Tigard High School is within walking distance of the Durham neighborhood. The athletic events at the high school are supported by the area and offer a form of entertainment. Also at Tigard High School is the Deb Fennell Auditorium, which is where the popular Broadway Rose Theater Company has put on professional theater productions since 1992.
