Crossville is Home to the U.S. Chess Federation
I am in no way good at chess and do not even know how to play but Crossville, Tennessee has made a name for itself. The United States Chess Federation has chosen Crossville, Tennessee as its main headquarters. The bid was chosen in 2004. This is a great honor to be picked. Other towns that were bidding on this honor included Atlanta, Dallas, San Francisco and Palm Beach; but Crossville won.
In 2005, the building was completed and is still running and operating today in full swing. People from all over the place come to compete and challenge the locals to a game of this highly skilled game. There are always local tournaments occurring along with the national U.S. Cadet Championship annually.
