*Pro blogging? On blogs outside of ActiveRain.
I have long wondered if some of real estate blog feuding is for real. Lately there seems to be a lot of "simulated elements of mock combat" on blogs. I borrowed that phrase from Wikipedia's 'Pro Wrestling' entry but it fits like Hulk Hogan's tie dyed tights.
I respect their showmanship. I am entertained after a fashion but I wonder sometimes if it is all staged and if it is staged why it can't look more real.
Wikipedia says of professional wrestling:"Professional wrestling, or pro wrestling, is the performance, management, and marketing of a form of entertainment that is based on simulated elements of catch wrestling, mock combat and theatre. Modern professional wrestling usually features striking and grappling techniques, which are modelled after diverse sets of global wrestling and pugilistic styles."
It just all seems to boil down to getting traffic. IMHO a pre-occupation with SEO is an early warning sign of someone going "pro." Is it to sell blogs on certain real estate blogging platforms? No holds barred? Anything goes. Whatever it takes. That's entertainment!
Signs of "professional real estate blogging" include:
1. Wearing tights and a boa
2. Documenting the plan of battle on a public forum that people can read your next move via Google Alerts
3. Tag team - your blog platform team joins in to pummel the other brand of blogs.
Can't you find the recommendation to attack someone to boost traffic from a blogging guru or two right here on ActiveRain? Need traffic attack someone. It can't be on ActiveRain though because there are Guidelines against personal attacks. "Buy a blog on my blogging platform for real estate.... "
ActiveRain has Guidelines which include (but are not limited to... )
- Do not personally attack another person.
- Do not slander another person
- We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express unpopular points of view. But we don't permit hate speech which contains slurs or the malicious use of stereotypes intended to attack or demean a particular gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or nationality.
- There is zero tolerance for predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, invading privacy, or the revealing of other members' personal information. Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from ActiveRain.
There's a link to Guidelines on the bottom of every ActiveRain screen.
Do you like attacks on blogs and other bloggers thinly veiled or totally transparent? Or does it all leave you cold? The really odd thing to me is those who write entries about catch phrases like "transparency" and then show up on ActiveRain, one of the big RE blogs or a blogging guru's blog wearing tights and a boa with their team ready for some tag team professional real estate blogging.
* ProBlogging is the name of a respected blog written by Darren Rowe about making money from blogging. This entry is not about that blog. If you did not understand what this entry is about. I'm sorry, move along, there's plenty to read on ActiveRain! If you think this blog is about you.. do you really wear tights and a boa? If not stop being so paranoid.
