A few weeks ago I was talking with a former high school classmate of mine on Facebook. She told me that her and her husband had decided to sell and wants to move south. Her agent was going to hold an open house and she wanted any suggestions I could offer. Not wanting to go against anything her current agent may have told her I simply stated that she should have fresh baked cookies just out of the oven right before the open house and to use fresh flowers in the house.
This past weekend her agent held an open house. I received a phone call yesterday to tell me that the first thing that the potential buyers said was they commented on how good the cookies smelled.
This wouldn't have been such a big deal but her competition was visited and their homes had a musty smell and the other was just nothing special.
Whether or not the home sells from this open house you can be rest assured that the buyers will remember their home because of those cookies. Now the other homes have to compete with that!
Sometimes it is the little things that you do that make a difference.
