Let's Talk Ethic's ! Is Telling Someone What They Want To Hear Lieing ?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Shore Points Realty BR# 8340248

This is the story about a man name Jed !! LOL

Jed had a very large sphere of influence and received lots of calls from past clients that were also old friends. In the beginning he told the listing prospects the truth and he didnt get the marketing contract.  So one day he started telling them what they wanted to hear and the listing started coming in briskly. Bravo ! Right ? Wrong !

Is this any better than lieing about other things like leaks or defects or taxes or whatever ?

So where do we draw the line ? In this real estate market there is alot on the line !

So what are your thoughts ! Thanks and have a great day ! ~ Ian

For Robin and I there is only one way -- the truth and nothing but the truth backed up with comprehensive/legitament comps and reasons why and how we reached our figures, etc..  The truth with a sound and wide marketing plan and presentation.

Our integrity and reputation is very important to us in our business and personal life.

I'll be back to see others comments and follow the thread.

Me personally, I am a no nonsense kind of girl, I will be direct and honest with you even if I don't get the listing, they list it with someone else and in a few months once it hasn't sold they will be like "hey that realtor that I didn't list with told me that this would happen if I didn't price it right, and the realtor that I did list with said they could sale it at the price I wanted to list it at and has not been able to perform on their word....hmmm..." Be careful what you promise your clients if you can't perform on those promises.
