According to a report based on information from WOW, the Washington Post reported that Washington DC Metro area is the 11th most expensive region in the country to live in. Below is a table from Monday's Washington Post report showing the cost of living expense per county. According to WOW and the Post in 2008 a family of 4 (two adults & 2 kids) need roughly $80,000 in income. In 2010 the number has increased to $104,000 with $7500 in savings, WOW.

The problem with these reports is that they treat the "Wash/MD/VA area as one.  WE ARE NOT.

The difference in the cost of gasoline alone is $0.30 per gallon higher in some areas than others.

Hey Lenn,

thanks for the comment. I agree. I was driving in Georgetown two weeks ago and saw gas prices in the $4 range.
