Happy Thanksgiving!
One thing that I am thankful for this morning are people that share their photos on free sites.
I often use my own photos for my blog posts but SOMETIMES I don't have what I want.
This Thanksgiving morning I want to share with you three totally awesome sites that I use for photos for my blog posts when I don’t have one of my own that fits the topic I’m writing about. The really great thing about these sites is that they are FREE!
1. Big Foto - You have free use of all pictures if you provide a link to the bigfoto website. If you do not
want to provide a link, contact them for payment instructions. It is not permitted to copy bigfoto pictures onto a web site and offer
them for downloading. It is strictly prohibited to upload pictures to Wikimedia Commons.

2. Burning Well - a repository for public domain (free for any use) images. You are free to download, copy and use the photos you
find there for any purpose. These free images were donated by photographers from around the world, donations are gladly accepted.

3. Morgue File – This one is my favorite. Morgue File is a public image archive by creatives for creatives. Free images for your inspiration, reference and use in your creative work, be it commercial or not! The first photo in this post (the turkey photo) is also from Morgue File, courtesy of sideshowmom. It's also easy to add your own photos to the morgueFile. So, give back because this archive is for creatives by creatives. I have uploaded a few of my photos to Morgue File and will upload more. I encourage you to do the same. Morgue File allows you to use the photos even without attribution. But I encourage you to go ahead and give credit to the owner of the photo since they are freely giving to you… give back.
You are free:
- Remix — to adapt the work.
- Commercial — to use this work for commercial purposes.
- Without Attribution — to use without attributing the original author.
Under the following conditions:
· Stand alone basis — You can not sell, license, sublicense, rent, transfer or distribute this image exactly as it is without alteration.
· Ownership — You may not claim ownership of this image in its original state.
- Any of the above conditions can be waived if you get permission from the contributor.
- Nothing in this license impairs or restricts the author's moral rights.
