Thankful For Who My Mom Taught Me To Be

By

I'm thankful today for who my Mom taught me to be.

My Mom faced a lot of pandemonium in her life especially with her health.  But she never gave up! That is what I admire most about her.  Three years ago last week, my Mom completed her journey on earth and left behind a huge legacy. I put this little video scrapbook together so I can always cherish her memory.

As I think over what I'm most thankful for this Thanksgiving Day, I can't help but be thankful for who my Mom taught me to be.  She taught me:

1. Be a person who loves with your whole heart.

2. Be a person who does everything to the best of your ability.

3. Be a person who never gives up.

Even in the last couple of weeks I had with my Mom, she taught me number 3 over and over again.  What an example I have to follow  and how grateful I am that God chose this woman to raise me.

Melissa,,,

I lost my dad in November 1995. He made me the man that I am today and I miss him, especially around the holidays!

Wow such a touching story.  My daughter and I are very close.  My mom died when I was 11, but I have that same special connection with my 25 yr old daughter and hope that I continue to touch her life on a daily basis.  Thanks for sharing.

Melissa-thank you for sharing the video.  What a great idea!  I lost my mom 3 years ago to breast cancer, but I feel her with me everyday.  The lessons that your mom taught you are great reminders to be the best person that we can be.  It looks like she was a fantastic Grandma also.  You can see the love in her Grandkids' eyes.

Nor - I'm glad my post inspired you.  My Mom always did the same for me and still does. :-)

Richard - Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by - the holidays are the most difficult, but I just cherish the memories and keep the traditions going that she taught me.

Belinda - I'm sorry you lost your Mom at such an early time but I'm sure you are a great inspiration to your daughter.  May you always be close.

John - I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I really enjoyed looking through all the pictures and putting it together.

Mel -  My Mom was the best Grandma in the world according to my nieces and nephews.  She always took the time (even when she didn't have the energy) to be with them.  That's one of the things I mean by Love with Your Whole Heart - She did nothing halfway, especially when it came to her grandkids.
