The following areas (always subject to change, so refer to to the Cleveland Restoration Society's website for the most up-to-date list) are eligible:

  • Shaker Heights, Cleveland Heights, parts of the City of Cleveland, Lakewood, Chagrin Falls, Bay Village, East Cleveland, Lyndhurst and South Euclid in Cuyahoga County,
  • Willoughby in Lake County, 
  • Avon and Oberlin in Lorain County and
  • Akron in Summit county

The following resources are available:

  • low-interest loans
  • technical assistance
  • educational workshops and
  • plenty of resources for homeowners.

Having owned a 1925 home in Shaker Heights and knowing the treasure which these old homes possess, the Cleveland Restoration Society is quite a local gem that many homeowners of old homes are not aware of.

Chris that is a beautiful older home in the first picture.  The front entrance almost looks like what you would find in a church.

Chris--I am ashamed to admit that after living in Columbus, OH the first 32 years of my life, I know very little about Cleveland.  Even though Cleveland is hours away from Columbus, I am thoroughly enjoying your posts and learning about 'that other city' in Ohio.  Makes me a little home sick, but I am enjoying what I am learning!

Hi Chris ~ Whenever older homes can be preserved, we all benefit.  If I lived in Cleveland I'd be very interested in learning more about the Cleveland Restoration Society.  You always show such us such beautiful homes and neighborhoods in your posts!  I'll bet your 1925 Shaker Heights home is a beauty, too.
