I actually love the Christmas season! It's my favorite time of the year. I have been known to go all out (maybe too far) for the season. For years we had an open house every Saturday after Christmas. Sometimes we would have about 100 people coming in! What fun it was, Some of these people I would only see once a year at this time. I looked forward to seeing everybody. Well, as time goes on, our three boys almost gone from the nest. College fees became a realization! It finally took it's toll as of last year. We actually decided that we just couldn't afford the open house anymore. I was so depressed last year because of this, that I really didn't get into the season as much as usual. I wasn't as busy getting ready for it, because I didn't have as much to get ready for!! What a sad way to be!
I realize now, that everything is what you make of it. If you have the gifts of Health, Family and Friends, anything is possible. I am very much into the season this year and I can't wait to be with my family in a few days. To have my boys all under one roof once again, for a short time, is what makes it all worth it. We are still not having our open house, but I have revised this with a new years eve get together with neighborhood friends. We have decided to put together a progressive dinner and go from one house to another for each course. Staying in the neighborhood and sharing fun and games with each and every one of them. This is something to look forward to and will be tons of fun.
The moral of the story is "Make it what you want it to be". It's mind over matter! AS I have previously stated " Be Positive" It will take you a long way.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I know that I will!
