I read two articles yesterday and one today that would make any Realtor want to stay in bed but that doesn't seem to be the case in Panama City Florida. As a new agent, I'm just happy the phone is ringing let alone the fact that I have homes under contract. Although prices are down and foreclosures are directly affecting the market, I believe with the right marketing tools: great pictures, visual tours or video, well written copy and a willingness to talk straight with sellers, real estate sales can be a good experience for both sellers and buyers.
For buyers, you've never been in a better situation price wise. It may be a little bit more difficult to find financing, especially on some condo projects but the good news is that many more owners are willing to "owner finance" than ever before. The right Realtor will draft a win/win offer and make both sides happy.
Yes, you can say it looks like gloom and doom but I think it just looks like opportunity.
